Il nuovo, e molto probabilmente ultimo Super Mario per Wii U si impone sul mercato giapponese piazzando 138,242 copie durante la prima settimana, un buon modo per festeggiare i 30 anni della serie. A cedere la prima posizione al baffuto di casa Nintendo è Metal Gear Solid V, che risulta il secondo gioco più venduto (sommando le due versioni) seguìto da Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village, porting di uno spin-off gestionale della celebre serie Capcom realizzato per la PSP nel 2010.
 

Super Mario Maker ha un effetto positivo sulle vendite di Wii U ma ciò non basta a superare quelle del New 3DS, nonostante il calo della portatile Nintendo. PS4 dal canto suo esaurisce l'effetto Metal Gear Solid e torna ai suoi comunque buoni dati abituali, in attesa del price-drop annunciato al Tokyo Game Show. In ferie la PS Vita.
